Australian Facetors' Guild

The Australian Facetors' Guild Limited is a national organisation supporting people interested in the art and craft of gemstone faceting. The Guild promotes the cutting and polishing of both natural and synthetic materials while encouraging the study of gemstones, faceting techniques, equipment and related materials.

A key focus of the Guild is education and skill development. It organises seminars, tutorials, workshops, exhibitions and faceting competitions designed to support everyone from beginners through to experienced facetors. Guild groups operate across Australia, providing opportunities for members to meet regularly, exchange knowledge, share advice and develop their practical skills.

The Australian Facetors' Guild also coordinates major competitive events, including its annual faceting competition and the International Faceting Challenge. These competitions provide opportunities for Australian and international facetors to demonstrate their technical ability and craftsmanship, while promoting excellence within the field.

The Guild is also committed to supporting research and development in faceting and encouraging the responsible use and protection of Australian gemstone resources. It has contributed to discussions around fossicking legislation and the protection of important and rare gemstone localities.

Through education, competitions, member groups and industry advocacy, the Australian Facetors' Guild continues to strengthen Australia’s faceting community while promoting greater appreciation of Australian gemstones and the skilled craft required to transform rough material into finished gems.
