The Gold & Silversmiths Guild of Australia is a professional organisation for Australian goldsmiths, silversmiths and jewellery makers. Formed in 1988, the Guild promotes standards of material, workmanship, integrity and consumer protection and administers a recognised marking system for Australian-made precious metal work.
Members use registered maker's marks and can apply Guild and fineness marks that help identify the maker and precious-metal standard. The Guild's National Council operates from GAA House in West Melbourne, where it maintains a practical workshop used for member and industry training.
The organisation also supports professional development, networking and the preservation of traditional maker-mark practices. Contact the Guild directly for current membership categories, workshops, marking requirements and industry activities.
