About Desma Designs

Desma Designs is a Croydon jewellery studio centred on the work of goldsmith and designer Desma Noble. With around 35 years of jewellery experience, Desma specialises in hand-crafted engagement rings, wedding rings and bespoke fine jewellery, combining technical making skills with a highly personal design process.

Custom commissions usually begin with a conversation about the customer, the occasion and the ideas they already have. From there, the studio can develop sketches, explore gemstones and refine the design over several appointments. The aim is not simply to reproduce a standard ring in a different size, but to create something that fits the wearer’s style and the story behind the piece.

Desma is also a qualified gemmologist, which supports the studio’s work with diamonds and coloured gemstones. Remodelling, repair and restoration are major parts of the business as well. Older jewellery can be repaired back to wearable condition or reworked into a completely new piece, allowing clients to retain sentimental stones and precious metals while changing the design.

The workshop uses specialist equipment including laser welding, which can make certain detailed repairs and construction techniques possible with greater control. Valuations and ongoing care are also available.
