About Whitneys Jewellers Dubbo

Whitney’s Jewellers is a fourth-generation Dubbo family jewellery business established in 1919 by Herb Whitney. More than a century later, it remains one of the city’s longest-running independent jewellers, with family involvement and practical trade knowledge passed through successive generations. Peter Carolan joined his grandfather Herb and uncle Bob Whitney in 1955, later working in the business for more than 50 years. His daughter Gina Brown joined in 1995 and continues the family tradition alongside a team with substantial combined industry experience.

A fully equipped onsite workshop is central to the business. Whitney’s creates custom engagement and wedding rings, undertakes remodelling and restoration, resizes rings and repairs jewellery that customers want to keep in use. Clients can arrive with a clear design in mind or work with the team to develop an idea, making the process suitable for both new commissions and sentimental pieces that need to be reimagined.

The store also carries ready-made gold and diamond jewellery, sterling silver, watches, pearls and other pieces for gifts and milestones. That retail range sits alongside the workshop rather than replacing it, giving customers the option to choose from existing jewellery or commission something more individual.
