About Silvermist Studio Gallery

Silvermist Studio is a Healesville jewellery gallery and goldsmith’s workshop established in 1998 by Tim and Liz Peel. The business began when the couple moved to the Yarra Valley and purpose-built a home with a studio and workshop at the front, creating a space where Tim could design, make and sell jewellery directly to clients.

In 2015 Silvermist moved into a larger gallery and studio in central Healesville. The expanded space allowed the business to display a broader range of jewellery as well as selected glass and ceramic work by Yarra Valley artists, giving the gallery a connection to the wider local creative community.

Tim Peel trained through TAFE and completed a degree at Monash University before developing his professional jewellery practice. He is a Fellow of the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia and was elected to the Guild’s National Council in 2013, contributing to professional standards and hallmarking within the Australian precious-metals trade.

One-off handmade jewellery remains Tim’s main passion. Custom projects can range from simple silver earrings through to sophisticated diamond rings, with the design developed around the client’s preferences rather than a fixed catalogue style. The studio setting allows customers to engage directly with the maker throughout that process.

For visitors and local customers in Healesville, Silvermist offers a genuine maker-led experience. Its combination of custom goldsmithing, contemporary jewellery and locally selected artwork reflects more than two decades of creative practice in the Yarra Valley.
