About Philip's Jewellery

Philip’s Jewellery is a locally owned Mackay boutique led by qualified jeweller and designer Philip, who has spent more than three decades working in the trade. The business has operated since 1999 and is built around Philip’s direct involvement in the design, creation, maintenance and repair of jewellery. Custom-made work is a major focus, ranging from engagement rings and wedding jewellery to dress rings, pendants, earrings and one-off pieces created around a client’s own ideas, gemstones or heirloom materials.

The custom process combines traditional jewellery-making skills with modern technology. Clients can discuss preferred shapes, metals, diamonds, gemstones and personal details directly with the jeweller who will make the piece. Philip works with natural and laboratory-grown diamonds as well as Australian sapphires, opals, pearls and other gemstones, and the business states that diamonds and gemstones supplied through the store are responsibly sourced. Precious metals used in new work include gold, silver and platinum. Existing jewellery can also be incorporated into new designs, including sentimental stones, while old gold may be upcycled into pieces such as bangles or nugget-style pendants. In addition to bespoke work, Philip’s Jewellery provides repairs and sells a collection of individually made jewellery. The business also offers a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects on its custom work, reinforcing its emphasis on workmanship and jewellery intended for long-term wear.
