Allen Barnes Jewellers was established in 1964 by Allen Barnes and his wife Robin. Allen was a watchmaker, and the jewellery shop offered a wide variety of jewelry, giftware, watches & clocks, along with jewellery, watch, and clock repairs.Neville's son Allen joined the business in 1977 and in 1998, Allen and his wife Robyn purchased and renamed the business Allen Barnes Jewellers. Today, the store continues to offer the core values of providing courteous customer service and reliable, competitive prices, but now offers an extensive collection of engagement rings, diamonds, and fine jewellery, including wedding bands, engagement rings, and dress rings.

The store is a member of the Australian Jeweller's Association and is an associate member of the Leading Edge Group, which is Australia's largest buying group for independently owned and operated companies.
