About Kian Design

Kian Design is a South Perth custom jewellery studio owned and operated by private jeweller Kian Dastyar, who brings more than 30 years of fine-jewellery experience to bespoke design and manufacture. Born in Iran and later working with leading Australian jewellery houses, Kian developed a broad technical background before building a personal clientele around one-off pieces and long-term relationships.

Custom design is the core of the studio. A project starts with a consultation in which clients can bring photographs, sketches or general ideas and discuss style, materials and budget. Kian then develops the concept using computer-aided design, producing a realistic three-dimensional rendering before manufacture. Where useful, a resin model can also be created so the client can better understand scale and proportions before the final piece is made.

The studio works with precious metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones across engagement rings, wedding rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets and other fine jewellery. Remodelling is also part of Kian’s work, giving clients the option to reuse existing gemstones or precious materials in a more contemporary design.

Kian’s professional connections include membership of the Jewellers Association of Australia and Nationwide Jewellers. These sit alongside a maker-led business model in which the designer remains directly involved with the client.

For customers who want to see a custom idea develop before committing to manufacture, Kian Design offers a particularly clear process. The combination of decades of bench experience with CAD visualisation gives clients both traditional jewellery knowledge and modern tools for refining a piece before it is made.
