In-store shopping is ideal if you want to see pieces in person and compare options with guidance. Many jewellers can advise on fit, styling, care, and gift ideas while you browse.

Imogene Antique & Contemporary Jewellery is a second-generation Melbourne family business specialising in antique, vintage and fine jewellery. The business was started in 1980 by Beatrice and is now led by her daughter Kathryn Wyatt, who has developed Imogene into a specialist destination for clients buying, selling, valuing, restoring or learning about older jewellery.
Kathryn is a qualified gemmologist and diamond technologist and a practising registered jewellery valuer. Her professional involvement extends across organisations including the Gemmological Association of Australia and the National Council of Jewellery Valuers, supporting a level of technical knowledge that is especially important when assessing period jewellery, gemstones and estate pieces.
The stock ranges from antique and vintage jewellery through to contemporary pieces, loose diamonds, coloured gemstones and cultured pearls. Art Nouveau, Art Deco and mid-century jewellery sit alongside newer designs, giving clients access to pieces with very different histories and aesthetics.
Imogene’s services are equally broad. The business undertakes custom design, restoration, repair and remodelling, pearl and bead restringing, appraisals and formal valuations, including work for estates. It also buys and sells suitable antique and vintage jewellery and offers educational classes relating to antique jewellery.
The business now operates from the Manchester Unity Building in Melbourne’s CBD, with manufacturing jewellers available to support workshop work. For collectors and everyday customers alike, Imogene combines historical knowledge, gemmological expertise and practical jewellery services in a highly specialised independent business.

Jewellery valuations provide written documentation for insurance, resale or estate purposes. A valuation records materials, gemstone details, condition and an assessed value using current market factors.
