Lucas Blacker Jewellery

Lucas Blacker Jewellery specialises in bespoke, handcrafted jewellery created by award-winning master jeweller and designer Lucas Blacker. With more than 45 years of professional experience, Lucas works across precious metals including gold, silver and platinum, combining traditional goldsmithing skills with an individual and highly recognisable design approach.

Lucas began designing and making jewellery in the late 1970s and established his first business in 1985. His work has since been exhibited and collected throughout Australia and internationally, including extensive exhibitions in Japan and Korea. In 1993, he became a Fellow of the Gold and Silversmiths Guild of Australia, recognising his level of craftsmanship and professional proficiency.

His practice has continually evolved through experimentation with precious metals, gemstones, hand engraving and specialist wax carving. Alongside creating bespoke jewellery, Lucas has also shared his experience through jewellery education, spending five years teaching design and construction at Studio 303, Ernst Pfenninger’s School for Gold and Silversmiths in Leichhardt.

In 2021, Lucas established Black Cicada Studio, combining a working jewellery workshop with an art gallery and creative space for exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops. Today, Lucas Blacker Jewellery continues to focus on individual craftsmanship, thoughtful design and close collaboration with clients to create unique Australian-made jewellery with lasting personal significance.
