About McKinney's Jewellers

McKinney’s Jewellers is a fifth-generation Queensland family jewellery house whose history began in Toowoomba in 1884. More than 140 years of family involvement has given the business an unusually deep connection to fine gemstones, diamonds and traditional jewellery craftsmanship. Today McKinney’s operates from Fortitude Valley, combining its long heritage with a contemporary luxury-jewellery approach.

The business is especially known for fine coloured gemstones and diamonds. McKinney’s works with Australian South Sea pearls and a wide range of precious stones, while also presenting selected international jewellery houses including Ole Lynggaard Copenhagen, FOPE, Marco Bicego and other specialist brands. It is also the exclusive Australian retailer for ASHOKA diamonds, a distinctive diamond cut associated with high-end bespoke jewellery.

Engagement and wedding jewellery remain an important part of the offering. Clients can explore the business’s own 1884 Engagement Collection, compare diamond options and work with experienced staff on pieces intended to mark major milestones. McKinney’s also provides repairs, redesigns and restorations, helping customers maintain or transform jewellery they already own.

The business places particular emphasis on long relationships with clients. Its fifth-generation history means many customers have returned across decades for engagements, anniversaries, heirlooms and later family occasions.
