Thomas Meihofer Jewellery Design is a Western Australian jewellery studio known for custom design, European-influenced styling and award-winning craftsmanship. The business began more than 25 years ago when Thomas Meihofer opened a design studio in Subiaco, building a reputation for jewellery that combines strong design ideas with traditional making skills.
Thomas was born and raised in Basel, Switzerland, and that European background continues to influence the studio’s aesthetic. His work draws inspiration from architecture, sculpture, Art Deco and contemporary design, resulting in pieces that often feel structured, refined and distinctive. Alongside jewellery created by Thomas and his team, the business has also presented selected collections from European jewellery designers.
The studio’s experience spans custom engagement rings, wedding jewellery, coloured gemstone pieces and one-off fine jewellery commissions. Clients can work directly with experienced designers and jewellers to develop a concept, refine proportions and materials, and create a finished piece around their own preferences.
Thomas Meihofer and his team have received significant industry recognition. The business won the Jewellers Association of Australia’s Jeweller of the Year award in 2008, and in 2012 took first place in both the Pearl and Coloured Gemstone categories at the Australasian Jewellery Design Awards.
