About Qismet

Qismet Jewellery is an Oatley artisan-jewellery boutique founded in 2006 by Lisa Ross, a qualified gemmologist and valuer with more than 30 years of industry experience. The store is built around jewellery with a strong design identity, bringing together selected independent designers from Australia and overseas rather than relying only on conventional mass-market ranges.

Lisa curates brands including Ayala Bar, Mariana, Najo and other artisan makers, with a focus on pieces that use colour, texture and distinctive materials.

The business has also developed its own collections. Qismet Signature launched in 2020 and focuses on contemporary sterling-silver and gemstone pieces, while Qismet Pearl followed in 2023 with handmade freshwater cultured pearl jewellery designed for versatile wear. Some pieces are made by Lisa herself, adding a direct maker element to the wider curated range.

Qismet describes its sourcing approach around quality, individuality and ethical or sustainable considerations. The Oatley boutique gives customers the opportunity to see materials and workmanship in person, while the online store extends the range beyond the local area.
